National Truck Rental operate an ERP solution that was developed for them as a bespoke application in the 1980s. Originally deployed on a Digital MicroVAX server, the hardware has subsequently been upgraded to an AlphaServer. Whereas the 'backroom' functionality of the application was quite strong and functionally rich, the user screens and reports were very limited.

NTR wished to retain the base functionality and the old RMS database structure while at the same time, providing modern (windows based) functionality to its user community. All data continues to be contained in the RMS format on the Alpha Server.

NTR chose Teamsoft as their development partner because of Teamsoft's knowledge of the VMS environment and RMS file structures.

Teamsoft also demonstrated an extremely strong focus in their approach to Project Management and Quality Control and this was an important factor in the decision process.

Kwik Fit (the household name for replacement tyres, shocks and exhausts) has successfully implemented a new Point of Sales system in all 22 of its Retail Outlets around the country. All sites can operate on a stand-alone basis or can operate in a network supported by a central back-office and accounting system.
